Fabric Paper Doll House and Django Jumping (sort of)

Almost finished Ava's present...Just have to run to the store and buy some stencils so I can put her name on it...My workroom is such a mess I can't find the stencils I know I have.  Spent two days sewing and having way too much fun with this one!

 Inside before sewing

 Done!

Think I'll put her name over the door...

Just needs a pressing and off to Hawaii!  Hope she likes it!

We have been truly blessed with amazing weather this July!  Perfect for riding early in the morning.  Cool and breezy.  It just doesn't get better than this.

I am in love with my horse.

Fabric Paper Dolls...

August 1 is my granddaughter's 2nd birthday.  I think she is a little young for these dolls but I just couldn't resist making them for her.  The clothes snap on and I have to hold myself back from making more and just get them in the mail.  It takes forever to get from here to Kauai.

The dolls and clothes are felt and fabric.  And the original idea is from:

and

and

I originally thought that if I backed the dresses with felt they would "stick" on the dolls but it didn't work well enough and I figured Ava would get frustrated.  So everyone has a snap instead.  We'll see.  Hopefully she can have fun with these or my son (Adam) can send them back to me for later!
Ava at 23 months...

And a very sleepy Django the other morning at 6:30 am.  Time for breakfast so we can ride by 7:30.  I love this horse!

Happy Tuesday!

Out and About to a Craft Fair

Well...let me just say that it is too hot for me to actually participate in a craft fair so, with a few friends, I visited one.  Just off the St. Lawrence River, attracting lots of Canadians, but way too hot.  The two women who put it on keep sending me an application but...Do I really want sweaty people trying on scarves and jackets?  Would they even want to???  It was 92 degrees and not a cloud in sight.  I had a headache after two house of visiting old friends and checking out booths.  And this past weekend we put up 200 bales of hay in the stifling heat.  I loaded 125 bales onto the hay elevator and my shoulders feel it now!

I do like the alpacas!

These are yearlings...male

This one was bottle fed as a baby so he was very friendly...

And I love the garden sculptures!

especially this one!  Too expensive for me, though.

Hot people...

So Happy Fourth of July everyone!!
